The GOP introduced a bill that will cut all bike and pedestrian funding. This is only 1.6 billion dollars compared to the DOT’s total budget of $79 billion. This is a tiny chunk of money for a very important cause. The GOP seems to think that Colin and I don’t use our bikes as transportation. Today we rode 15+ miles on a grocery run to an outlet store. With only four panniers (not completely filled) we carried all these groceries home. Now tell me we didn’t benefit from the infrastructure that this small fraction of their budget provides.
